It is situated in the heart of the Walpole Wilderness area, on the edge of the D’Entrecasteau and Walpole-Nornalup National Parks.
Travelling south from Perth, you pass Manjimup and then after an hour’s drive through magnificent forests, Crystal Springs appears. It is the first settlement on the road and is truly set apart from the urban stresses of the 21st Century.
The Southern Ocean is 7 km away, with an all-vehicle road leading directly to the superb Mandalay Beach, which offers surfing, beach and rock fishing and beachcombing. Long Point, Hush Hush Beach, Banksia Beach, Cliffy Head, Broke Inlet Mouth and Lost Beach can be reached by 4-wheel drive and on foot. Sections of the Bibbulmun Track, which runs all the way from Perth to Albany, are within 5 km.
Walpole town can be reached by car in seven minutes and has a good range of restaurants and cafés.
The main Transwa bus service runs past the front gate and picks up in Walpole. It connects with the Perth train in Bunbury or with the port and airport at Albany.
